Time to get the ball rolling on this long-overdue forum. For years it's been a two-way transaction between Flyerstarter and our Designers - now it is time to brainstorm on how to grow Flyerstarter as a design movement.

If you've got general suggestions or pet peeves about uploading designs to the site and our ongoing efforts to maximize your exposure and returns, drop them here.

If it's a more private question or bug report, as always, we can quickly be reached at info @ flyerstarter.com.

Our initial efforts to "go social" at Flyerstarter have so far turned out to be well worth the effort, now with this permanent thought-space, we can put the minds together and come up with a truly community-driven effort. Please do speak up!

Hello! I for one would be interested in hearing from some of the other designers on the site, maybe generate a little cross-talk amongst ourselves. We are sort of competing with one another in a way here but helping each other out benefits everyone, and the site too.

Thanks Justin - your suggestion led to the creation of this forum so it's great you dropped by so quick.

First off I will list some of the plans we have for the near-future:

- streamlined submissions page which will allow easier submissions & more control over stuff like thumbnail output

- designer-specified country zones, many designers over the years have indicated that they would participate, so long as their designs were not sold in their local design turf

- exclusivity, we have a valuable niche in Flyerstarter and we don't want our designers tempted by penny volume sales elsewhere, we need to come up with a framework to completely reward design loyalty and strengthen the Flyerstarter brand in the face of the unending barrage of competition on the internet

.. in the meantime, we have a solid crew of designers that are multiplying their work globally and seeing increasing returns. A great design can be remixed and re-interpreted just like music, it's great to be here on the first day of our design-DJ forum.

Hi to all who are reading, I don't even know how many designers are here. I have only been submitting for a few months and I only have a handful of designs up, but I'm pleased with the return. I just need to find a bit more time to create some new designs.

I'm glad to see that Keith is not resting, but looking to improve the site and revenue, I'm looking forward to the new stuff being implemented. Currently the only thing I would like to see is some sort of individual portfolio that can be browsed by buyers (or is that all ready available?).

That's it from me for now, short and sweet.

Right now the links to the member name contain only the "social" aspects of the portfolio, e.g. latest posts, friends, updates.

Shortly we will be getting a lot of the Zymmetrical tech online here, including full portfolio links. Another item that has been contemplated is displaying the download count of designs - always something I was keen to avoid with Zymmetrical to avoid that microstocky feeling, but in the case of Flyerstarter may be a useful bit of info for the clients - especially if it can be tied in with geographic areas.

No one wants to take the chance of publishing a design only to have the establishment across the street use the same design - the odds would be very low it would happen but if we can offer the extra reassurance it should be worthwhile in boosting client confidence.

I think the site is great, just need some fix.
The search engine can be a little more accurated and maybe an advanced search could be incorporated too.

In the first page when you click on flyers it will open a window with 300 layouts, it would be better if you have the layouts divided by categories like eletronic, hip-hop, christmas and etc... It would help the client to find the flyer that he is looking for.

And continue in the first page there are some broken links like Posters, CD Inlays and others...

If you make it easier for customers to find what they want it will sell more and make everybody happy!

Sorry about my (bad) english...

Hi Luiz,

Your English is fine! Yes we are going to be professionally re-keywording the entire back catalog of designs and have some plans for the search efficiency in general.

First page links are fixed now- a silly bug that occurs after a specific update, thanks.

Full portfolio link will be very nice! I have been contacted directly by customers asking to see my full collection and up to now have had to send them a zip of jpeg previews so I would welcome that.
